Creating Your Account

To get started with Down Under Vault, you will need to create an account:

  1. Visit the signup page — Click "Sign Up" from the homepage or navigation menu.
  2. Enter your details — Provide your full name, email address, and create a secure password.
  3. Password requirements — Your password must be at least 12 characters and include uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
  4. Add your mobile number — This is optional but recommended for Check-In notifications.
  5. Verify your email — Check your inbox for a verification code and enter it to activate your account.

Why verify your email?

Email verification ensures you can receive important notifications about your vault, including Check-In reminders and security alerts.

Setting Up Your Profile

Once logged in, you can customise your profile from the Profile page:

  • Full Name — This is how you'll be identified to your nominees.
  • Mobile Number — Add or update your phone number for SMS notifications.

Access your profile by clicking your avatar in the top navigation and selecting "Profile".

Phone Verification

If you've added a mobile number, you may be prompted to verify it:

  1. Go to your Profile page.
  2. Click "Verify Phone" next to your mobile number.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code sent to your phone via SMS.
  4. Once verified, you'll receive Check-In notifications by SMS.

Did not receive the code?

Check that your phone number is correct and includes the country code. You can request a new code after 60 seconds.

Your First Steps

After setting up your account, here is what we recommend doing first:

1

Add Your First Item

Start by adding something simple like a valuable possession or important document location.

2

Configure Check-Ins

Set up your Check-In schedule to keep your vault secure and ensure timely access.

3

Add a Family Member

Add at least one person who will receive access to your vault information.

4

Assign Items to People

Choose who receives what — assign vault items to specific people so they know exactly what is theirs.

Also Available

These optional planning guides can help with specific tasks:

  • Will Builder — Create a will for straightforward estates with jurisdiction-specific guidance and witness requirements

  • Browse items by category (Financial, Property & Assets, Documents & Estate, Insurance, Personal & Identity).
  • Access quick actions for common tasks.
  • View your most recently updated items.

Any vault health warnings will appear at the top of your dashboard, alerting you to missing executors or pending invitations.
