Getting Started
Welcome to Down Under Vault. This guide will help you set up your vault and start protecting your important information for your loved ones.
Creating Your Account
To get started with Down Under Vault, you will need to create an account:
- Visit the signup page — Click "Sign Up" from the homepage or navigation menu.
- Enter your details — Provide your full name, email address, and create a secure password.
- Password requirements — Your password must be at least 12 characters and include uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
- Add your mobile number — This is optional but recommended for Check-In notifications.
- Verify your email — Check your inbox for a verification code and enter it to activate your account.
Why verify your email?
Email verification ensures you can receive important notifications about your vault, including Check-In reminders and security alerts.
Setting Up Your Profile
Once logged in, you can customise your profile from the Profile page:
- Full Name — This is how you'll be identified to your nominees.
- Mobile Number — Add or update your phone number for SMS notifications.
Access your profile by clicking your avatar in the top navigation and selecting "Profile".
Phone Verification
If you've added a mobile number, you may be prompted to verify it:
- Go to your Profile page.
- Click "Verify Phone" next to your mobile number.
- Enter the 6-digit code sent to your phone via SMS.
- Once verified, you'll receive Check-In notifications by SMS.
Did not receive the code?
Check that your phone number is correct and includes the country code. You can request a new code after 60 seconds.
Your First Steps
After setting up your account, here is what we recommend doing first:
Add Your First Item
Start by adding something simple like a valuable possession or important document location.
Configure Check-Ins
Set up your Check-In schedule to keep your vault secure and ensure timely access.
Add a Family Member
Add at least one person who will receive access to your vault information.
Assign Items to People
Choose who receives what — assign vault items to specific people so they know exactly what is theirs.
Understanding the Dashboard
Your vault dashboard is your command centre. From here you can:
- See your total item count and storage usage.
- View your current Check-In status and next due date.
- Browse items by category (Financial, Property & Assets, Documents & Estate, Insurance, Personal & Identity).
- Access quick actions for common tasks.
- View your most recently updated items.
Any vault health warnings will appear at the top of your dashboard, alerting you to missing executors or pending invitations.
